Address

Argyll Hall , Main Street
Cambuslang, Lanarkshire,

Directions

What became known as The Gospel Hall and then a Chinese Restaurant, was known as the Argyle Hall and belonged to a publican The hall was leased to the Christian Brethren but their lease was withdrawn when there was a campaign locally to make Cambuslang a "dry" area. This in effect did take place and the publican assumed (wrongly) that the Brethren were the primary factor in this withdrawal of the sale of the liquor licence, hence his cancellation of their lease.

I do not know where in Main Street the hall was.
