Revival came in 1826 and the circuit minister records, 'From that time (Willaim Carne's conversion) the word of the Lord mightily grew and prevailed in Sticker; so that at the annual revel no one was found in attendance, and when the fiddler came, in his usual manner, to the public house, it is reported that the landlady said to him, 'The feast is removed to the Methodist Chapel; all the people are gone thither, and I advise you to follow them.'
