Church of Corpus Christi - Tremeirchion (1905)

It is delightful to be able to inform the thoughtful readers of the GOLEUAD that the little church at Tremeirchion, after weeks of steady persistent prayer, has been blessed with a very clear visit from that Holy One; and we take this opportunity to record briefly what we saw and heard during our visit. It started in a very simple, if not unexpected, way. The minister, the Rev. W. E. Williams, was with his class on a Thursday evening about a month ago, when one of the boys expressed a desire to turn the reading meeting into a prayer meeting.  The minister immediately consented, and within a very short time, almost all of the children were on their knees praying together out loud, with not a dry cheek among them, and ever since then the prayer meeting has been held, by the children, before and after the public meeting; and every day in the afternoon by sisters, of all ages, among them young women whom the most delicate ear, or the most delicate taste would have no need to be ashamed to hear. It is not at all a populous area, and therefore one cannot expect the exceptional feelings characterising congregations in populous areas, but despite that, there are very wonderful signs thereof the presence of the Lord in general intensity and tears. It was also good to see that the young men and women are quite generally under the influences and that several have joined the church; not least in zeal, careful enthusiasm and joy is Mr Williams, the minister, of whom they are all so fond.

Additional Information

Y mae yn hyfrydwch i ni hysbysu darllenwyr ystyr, iol y GOLEUAD fod yr eglwys fechan yn Tremeirchion, ar ol wythnosau cyson o weddio dyfalbarhaol, wedi cael ei bendithio ag ymweliad amlwg iawn oddiwrth y Sanctaidd hwnw; ac yr ydym yn cymeryd y cyfle hwn i gofnodi yn fyr yr hyn a welsom ac a glywsom, yn ystod ein hymweliad a'r lie. Dechreuodd mewn ffordd syml iawn, os nad annisgwyliadol. Yr oedd y gweinidog, y Parch. W. E. Williams rhyw fis yn ol, gyda'i ddosbarth, ar nos Iau, pryd y dymunodd un o'r bechgyn gael troi y cyfarfod darllen yn gyfarfod gweddi. Cydsyniodd y gweinidog ar unwaith; ac ymhen ychydig iawn o amser, yr oedd y plant oll o'r bron ar eu gliniau yn cyd-erfyn yn uchel, heb un rudd sych eu mysg; a byth er hyny y mae y cyfarfod gweddi yn cael ei gynal, gan y plant, o flaen ac ar ol y moddion cyhoeddus a phob dydd yn y prydnawn gan chwiorydd, o bob oed yn eu plith ferched na fyddai raid i'r glust fwyaf delicate, neu y chwaeth fwyaf tyner gywilyddio eu clywed. Nid ydyw yr ardal yn boblogaidd o gwbl, ac felly nis gellir disgwyl y teimladau neillduol a nodweddol i poblog; ond er hyny, y mae yno arwyddion rhyfedd iawn o bresenoldeb yr Arglwydd mewn dwysder cyffredinol a dagrau. Da oedd genym weled hefyd fod y gwyr thereof' r merched ieuainc yn bur gyffredinol o dan y dylanwadau a bod amryw wedi ymuno a'r eglwys; ac nid y lleiaf mewn sel, brwdfrydedd pryderus maen a llawenydd.
