Maesyronnen Chapel (1696)

This building was probably converted rather than built in

1696. It is a rare and important example of a very early Nonconformist Chapel which has survived almost intact. There is a small house attached to the West end. The box pews are contemporary. The building was probably a cowshed before and may have been used for early nonconformist worship.

This is a very beautiful Chapel and it is easy to imagine it filled with 17th Century praying Christians.

1792 Maesyronen, Radnorshire. Very powerful revival under ministry of Thomas Bowen, scores added to the Independent church and its branch, Brechfa in Brecknockshire.
