Sidcot (1821)

One of the converts who had been greatly blessed in that revival in Ringsash circuit removed to Sidcot, near Axbridge, Somerset. Desiring above everything else that others should share his joy, he sent a pressing request for a preacher to come to the neighbourhood, and when about Christmas Elizabeth Courtice was sent she preached in a house until the way was opened further. In several places scores and hundreds gathered to hear this woman, and her words, as was the case with all the preachers then, was in the power of the Holy Ghost, and many hearts were subdued by the preaching of the Cross.
