Tabernacle Welsh Baptist Chapel - Harlech (1905)

We would like space for a note or two in SEREN CYMRU on the facts of the religious Revival in Harlech and district. All denominations here have felt great and powerful things, but these notes pertain to the revival in the Baptist church at Tabernacle, Harlech, and Caersalem, Llanfair. We can say that this is a wonderful period in our history as churches. It can be said that Tabernacle church has felt things as powerful, to say the least, as any church in the area. The Divine fire broke out in an unusual way at Tabernacle on the Sunday of the week before Christmas. This happened at the young people’s prayer meeting on the Sunday morning, although there have been special prayer gatherings here before that, but that was the day this awakening broke out here. From that Sunday onwards, the spiritual fervour has been felt amazingly among us. Thanks be to heaven, its influence has destroyed indifference and infidelity completely from the church, with every brother and sister enjoying elevated experiences in spiritual things. To crown everything, a host of souls have been saved here. From the first Sunday in January to the first Sunday in March, 29 new converts have been added to Tabernacle church by baptism and restoration. We can also report wonderful things about the Revival in connection with the little church in LIanfair. Seven have been added to the church there.'This is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes.'

Additional Information

Carem gael lie i nodiad neu ddau yn SEREN CYMRU ar ffeithiau y Diwygiad crefyddol yn Harlech a'r cylch. Y mae pob enwad yma wedi teimlo pethau mawr a grymus, ond a'r adfywiad yn eglwys yn Bedyddwyr yn y Tabernacl, Harlech, a Caersalem, Llanfair, y mae a fyncm yn hyn o nodiadau. Gallwn ddweyd mai cyfnod bendigedig yw hwn yn ein hanes fel eglwysi.—Gellir dweyd fod eglwys y Tabernacl wedi teimlo pethau mor nerthol, a dweyd y lleiaf, ag unrhyw eglwys yn y lie. Torodd y tan Dwyrol allan mewn modd neillduol yn y Tabernacl Sul wythnos cyn y Nadolig. Digwyddodd hyn yn ngwrdd gweddio y bobl ieuanic boreu Sul, er fod yma gyrddau gweddio neillduol cyn hyny, ond dyna ddyddiad toriad allan y deffroad hwn yma. Ù'r Sul hwnw yn mlaen, mae y gwres ysprydol wedi ei deimlo yn rhyfeddol yn ein plith. Diolch i'r nefoedd, y mae ei ddylanwad wedi difa difrawder ac an ffyddlondeb yn llwyr or eglwys, phob biawd a chwaer yn mwynhau profiadau uchel mewn pethau ysprydol. Yn goron ar y cyfan, y mae yma eneidiau lu wedi eu hachub. O'r Sul cyntaf yn Ionawr hyd y Sul cyntaf yn mis Mawrth, y mae 29, trwy fedydd ac adferiad, o ddychweledigion newyddion wedi eu hychwanegu at eglwys y Tabernacl. Gellir dweyd pethau rhagorol hefyd am yr Adfywiad yn nglyn a'r eglwys fechan yn Lianfair. Y mae 7 wedi eu hychwanegu at yr eglwys yno. 'O'r Arglwydd y daeth hyn, a thyfedd yw yn ein goiwg ni.'
