Whitby (1825)

Whitby became a circuit in the connexional year 1823-4, and shortly afterwards Guisborough was united with it, but, as we have seen, the union was of short duration. When William Howcroft and his brother Robert travelled in the circuit, it was then (1825) thirty miles long and twenty wide, and there was a revival at that time, resulting in the conversion of over 600 souls.
