Higher Menadew (1819)

At Higher Menadew, on the Lord's day, the regular prayer meeting was held at 5 AM, and the house was nearly full at that early hour. Margaret Adams, the female preacher of considerable repute, was sent to this neighbourhood a few weeks later, and it was no uncommon thing, as she was faithfully warning her hearers to flee from the wrath to come, for five or six, and sometimes a larger number of persons simultaneously to cry for mercy. She was a burning and shining light.
