Robert McCheyne - Home (1819)




He was born on May 21st 1813 at 14 Dublin Street in Edinburgh. His father was a reputable lawyer, and he was the youngest of two brothers and two (one died before he was born) sisters. It was clear from early on that he was a bright lad, as he studied the Greek alphabet when he was four. He was also known for having a very melodious voice when he did recitations as a boy. The family moved to Queen Street in 1819.
