Bootle - Salvation Army (1881)

We have had a glorious time during the last fortnight and have seen dozens give themselves to God. Praise His holy name! Last Sunday was a day of great power and rejoicing. At the evening service 27 came out for Salvation. The soldiers muster in good order every night and we have splendid marches, the streets are sometimes crowded with people watching us and though we get mud and stones and other missiles thrown at us, it only draws us nearer to our blessed Master and is generally the sign of more conversions. Hallelujah! Many have also come out for a clean heart, yielding themselves entirely to God, which is the best plan by far.
