Stockport - Salvation Army (1882)

Last Saturday we paid a visit to a village called Hazelgrove, with about 210 in the ranks. We formed a ring and had some sharp shooting which brought one poor sinner to his knees. Hallelujah! Off again at 6:30 to Stockport, stopping in front of the “Star Inn,“ to fire away. Then off again for the Barracks, where though we had no tea and were tired, we let fly at the devil with all our might. Glory, Hallelujah! On Sunday we had a grand day. Wound up with 21 in the Fountain.

From, 'The War Cry', September 1882.

This is just one example of what was happening here. More reports can be seen from the War Cry in future months/years.
