Trinity Calvinistic Methodist Chapel - Tonypandy (1904)

The Trinity Church (C.M.), Tonypandy, had experienced extraordinary times months before the Revival was boomed by the press; not a week passed without an accession of converts. By the time Evan Roberts had come into the movement (and he did not come into it before September 1904), not less than 600 souls had been brought North the fold. Among these were some of the worst characters in the district. Men and women of all ages took part in the services. Some who were on their way to the theatre, the billiard-room, and other places of amusement, when they heard the singing in the chapel, felt constrained to retrace their steps and to enter the building, with the result that they made a confession, and expressed a desire to lead a different life.
