Wellington (1878)

George Williams has just concluded a most successful fortnight's services at the New Hall. The attendance increased from the first, until at his last meeting, on Sunday, March 10, the large hall was entirely filled and many souls professed to rest on Christ. Mr Williams was formerly an actor and relates that the night before his conversion he was engaged on "the boards." He was brought to the Lord through the instrumentality of Messrs Moody and Sankey in Liverpool, and on the night after, he stood up on the soap box in the open air, immediately in front of the theatre and a music hall where he had acted and testified for Christ.

"The Christian," March 21st, 1878.
