Barnwell (1863)

Sir,-About eighteen months since you very kindly inserted in your valuable paper a request for prayer for Cambridge. I have great pleasure in stating that our heavenly Father has answered that prayer to a certain extent, and has raised up a devoted, zealous Christian lady who is now working in Barnwell with great success. She preaches every Sunday evening in the Abbey school, Barnwell, to hundreds of men; and I rejoice to say that scores of anxious souls are seeking peace through the blood of the Lamb. It will be remembered that Barnwell was noted throughout the land for its great wickedness, but now very many who were swearers, liars, drunkards, etc., are proclaiming to the wide world that our Saviour can save to the uttermost all who come unto God by Him.
