York Baptist Church (1863)

Prayer has been asked and offered by many on behalf of York. Let there be more, much more, is the earnest request of many here. But let praise ascend also. We have received the earnest. Many Christians here are feeling the need of more life in the church. This is hopeful. The sense of need has led some to seek it by earnest prayer; prayer has brought blessing. Several of the various denominations have been holding special services, which have been most encouraging in their results; many dear saints are growing warm in their Master's cause; and as a consequence we find less discord amongst us as a whole. Oh that we all gloried more in the cross, which is the true, the only centre of unity. Let
us all live nearer it, and we shall live nearer each other.
