Ladderedge (1861)

Thank God there has been, and still is, a good work going on here. Upwards of thirty have passed from death unto life, old and young. Also in our Sabbath-school, several children have been converted, and others are under deep conviction. The writer of this article is one of the brands plucked from the burning. I was convicted of sin on the 20th of April last. The power of God came down upon me, almost as suddenly as a flash of lightning, and my body almost felt it like an electric shock, and, thank God, he turned my heart of stone into a heart of flesh. I was under deep, deep conviction until the Tuesday following, when God, for Christ's sake, spoke peace to my soul. I thank God he has also brought my wife into the narrow path that leads to glory. The language of my heart now is, "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord" A. T.
