Dallington (1863)

We desire to praise God that in answer to prayer He is at work in this parish. Mr Whitlock, a dear and faithful servant of the Lord, came among us and held special services a short time ago, which were greatly blessed. On the 10th of March, he came again and held three services in a barn (no other place being available), and one service on the following evening. These were greatly blessed. It was a pleasing, yet a solemn scene, to behold the many anxious ones on bended knees, crying for mercy.  Many went home rejoicing in a sin-pardoning God and many were in distress. Our dear brother came again the following week and held services in the barn on Thursday and Friday evenings, and many were broken down on account of sin, and many went home happy in Jesus. The people flock together, some coming many miles to hear the glorious news of salvation preached. It plainly shows that they will go where Christ is preached.
