Basingstoke - Salvation Army (1880)

God working, Devil raging, sinners trembling and falling into the Fountain; Saints rejoicing. Hallelujah. During the past nine days over 60 have fallen into the Fountain in Basingstoke and the fire has spread into the villages round and scores have been saved. Our place is packed and hundreds have to be turned away.

From, 'The War Cry', November 1880.
