Bridgford - Salvation Army (1880)

This place was visited by some of the Nottingham 1st Corps on Saturday, May 9th. Had a grand open-air people spoke with power. Sunday morning, 7 am prayer meeting; a good few present. These people have not been used to 7 o’clock prayer meetings. All got blessed. Met again at 10 am; had a good meeting, tears trickled down their cheeks. Afternoon – good meeting. Evening – conviction all over the place; crying and shouting for mercy. When the prayer meeting began, they commenced to come out. We wept for joy and sinners for mercy. Hallelujah! We shall not soon forget it. Truly God was with us and it was good to be there. Grand finish up with 27 souls.

From, 'The War Cry', May 1880.
