Birkenhead - Salvation Army (1882)

A wonderful work is going on here; Barracks packed. Overflow meeting at 500 in the lower room; crowds outside; many disappointed and had to go away. 35 came out to the penitent form. Something will have to be done to get a larger place; there are hundreds who would come in if there was room. If the work goes on in the future as during the five months the Army has been here, the drink traffic must fall all together. Hallelujah!

From, 'The War Cry', March 1882.

This is just one example of what was happening here. More reports can be seen from the War Cry in future months/years.

Additional Information

I do not know where the meetings were held.
