Hoxton Varieties Theatre (1877)

This new Mission Hall at 1a, New North Road, Hoxton was opened on Easter Monday. It is the outcome of work undertaken for God, first on the beach at Hastings eighteen months ago and latterly at the Variety Theatre, Hoxton. At the opening services a conference was held, at which many practical suggestions were made as to "the secret of successful work," and much praise to God went up from thankful hearts for the way He had led the workers from step to step.

On the erening of the same day the place was further consecrated to Christian service through the testimony of many who had been brought to Christ In connection with the work of which this hall is now the centre. Almost nightly meetings have been held since, and many seals have been given to the labours of the various brethren. A week's services conducted by Mr William Day were most fruitful.
