Neilston (1859)

A minister from here went to experience the revival in Dunlop. On his return the revival began in his church. He wrote, 'a new thing here, for formerly we were culpably reserved on spiritual matters. From that night onwards the work has gone on triumphantly... The worshipful, joyous solemnity that appears on the faces of the converts is truly heavenly and generally has a strange and thrilling effect on mere onlookers.'
